1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
– On the June day in 1941 that marked the beginning of Hitler’s assault on Russia, Churchill said with a smile, ‘If Hitler invaded Hell, I would at least make a favorable reference to the Devil in the House of Commons.’
from Crimes and Mercies: the fate of german civilians under allied occupation, 1944-1950
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?:
– a raspberry yogurt container, lidless, and half full of brass chainlinks
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?:
– Gearge Romeros Dawn of the Dead
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is:
– 1:16
5: Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?:
– 1:20
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?:
-Adrian in the kitchen. He is precisely cutting vegetables. There is also music. A synthetic beat with a double time overdub of snare. The female vocals are managing to convey scorn and desire. (I quite adore Snake River Conspiracy).
7: When did you last step outside? What were you doing?:
– I went with Adrian and Jeff and his friend whose name I don’t recall to the re-make of Dawn of the Dead. After that, we walked them up the alley to the Skytrain and back.
8: What are you wearing?:
– Violet silks, two shirts of it. One long sleeved and around my waist, the other I’ve half buttoned and tied at the top of my belly. It hasn’t sleeves. With it are brushed black cotton pants with silver buttons up the front instead of a zipper. There is a hole in the back on my right hand side in a slightly revealing position. UNderneath I’ve a black bra and tiny scarlet panties with a pad of folded felt for the blood. Almost not enough fabric to be panties, but…
10: Did you dream last night?
– like every night
11: When did you last laugh?
– only a moment ago. I laugh frequently.
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?:
-uninteresting cream coloured paint.
13: Seen anything weird lately?:
– I don’t believe I can answer that question as my seeing something I considered wierd would be unlikely.
14: What do you think of this quiz?:
– nothing so far
15: What is the last film you saw?:
– I am choosing here to separate film from movie and instead of repeating the litany of the zombie, I will claim Requiem for a Dream as my last seen film.
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?:
– myself out of debt from my friends.
17: Tell me something about you that I don’t know:
– not knowing who was the original author of this, I presume I could safely assume you know nothing of me. Instead of being pedantic and useless though, I will volunteer that I love the colour of Adrians eyes. They are blue like electricity and painful memories. His golden lashes frame them in a sweet gold. I think of them as things apart from him almost, because I believe almost they could fly, but he cannot.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?:
– I would create a world without irrational fear.
19: Do you like to dance?:
– as much as possible, anywhere permissable. And sometimes not so much.
20: 20. George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or some one who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
– utterly a tool. I wouldn’t say nutcase, but I would say pathetic and stupid. Killing him would create a martyr yet I don’t think having him in charge for the next four year haul would lead to anything but the death of america.
21: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?:
– hah. Imagine I had a child.
21: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?:
– See above.
(though admittedly, I would be sure to name them partly after a Love)
22: Would you ever consider living abroad?:
– it’s the only thing I’ve ever truly wanted
