She hesitated<br \/>\nand hedged, for the moon is more<br \/>\nsomeways then always, but finally she<br \/>\nsaid said, &#8220;I promise, I will stay.&#8221; She was<br \/>\ngone the next day. The young man<br \/>\nwaited by the pond and one day caught<br \/>\nher again with his bucket. This time he<br \/>\nsaid, &#8220;Let me teach you<br \/>\nalways.&#8221; Every month<br \/>\nthe moon drowns,<br \/>\nand she says,<br \/>\n&#8220;I will stay.&#8221;<br \/>\nAlways.<\/p>\n<p>x<\/p>\n<p>Love. <\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\"> Dearest Jhayne;<\/p>\n<p>Once upon a yesterday, when<br \/>\npromises were promises &#038; lies<br \/>\nwere promises too, there was<br \/>\na little girl without wings. Which<br \/>\nis not so unusual, as little girls go.<br \/>\nPerhaps the unusual bit is that<br \/>\nshe felt she should have them<br \/>\nat all. The little girl would pick<br \/>\nup feathers in the park, and ask<br \/>\nthe pigeons, &#8220;Have you seen my<br \/>\nwings?&#8221; One day a little boy heard<br \/>\nher query and laughed. &#8220;Don&#8217;t be<br \/>\nstupid,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Little girls<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t have wings!&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Neither do little<br \/>\nboys,&#8221; she said,<br \/>\nand  he fell<br \/>\nout of the<br \/>\nsky.<\/p>\n<p>x<\/p>\n<p>Love. <\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>I recieved an enchanting gift today. Two small envelopes with my name and address beautifully printed on them were in my mail-box. They carry canadian stamps and no return address, though the postal office tracking number tells me they were sent from a mailbox downtown by W. Georgia Street.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you, my unknown Polyhymnia, for reminding me to wonder. Your letters bring the poetry my life has been lacking, the mythology I have been strangling without. Thank you for catching me as I fall, for knowing me so desperately well or guessing so grandly. You have given me a gift I cannot measure without vivisection, without the sudden demonstration of spontaneous conflageration.
